The Shape of the Spheres

In the 5th Century B.C., Pythagorus wrote that celestial bodies each produced a unique tone based upon their speed and the length of their orbit. Together they would be harmonious: “ The Music of the Spheres.”

An enchanting theory but incomplete. Harmony alone does not make music. Rhythm is necessary as well.
In abstract photography, the same is true. Harmony in an image provides form and beauty but rhythm provides the motive force. It is key to the power, energy, and life of a photograph. Just as Pythagorus thought he heard heavenly music in the harmonious movement of the planets, a rhythmic, harmonious photograph can sing the Music of the Spheres.
